I'm incredibly excited to announce my next album:
The Fall of Atlas.
It's written as a Greek tragedy, in 3 acts. I wrote the first song for it 5 years ago. Now, it's almost here. I'll be releasing it in January. Next week, I will reveal all of the guests on the album, followed by a single, then a music video. In the meantime, here is the album cover. I would love to hear your thoughts. Please spread the word. If you Tweet, write something with the hashtag #FallOfAtlas. If you facebook, please feel free to download the cover and share with your friends. If you send Wells Fargo telegrams, please draw one up and send it to your friend living out in the wild west.
Much more info soon, but I'm so beyond excited about this that I had to show you.
Thank you for being the best friends and fans a kid could ask for.
There is a lot of new music and new merchandise in the pipeline, so it only makes sense to have a fancy new store to present them all to you!
Head on over to the Elephant Memories Online Store
. I think you'll like what we've done with the place.
And, the first 10 of you who order from the store will receive 50% off your ENTIRE order. No limit on the order size!
On may 25th, I will be playing the Juan De Fuca Festival of the Arts in Port Angeles, WA - aka, the town I was born and raised. I kick off the ENTIRE festival, on the main stage at 4PM. Hit up http://www.jffa.org
for all the details. Can't wait to see you there!
It's my birthday today. To celebrate, I'm releasing the official music video for the song, Zetta, about my grandma who died recently. I filmed it at her memorial service in Montana, and I hope you enjoy it.
So this website is giving $25,000 to whatever artist or band gets the most votes from people. If I win it, I'm going to give $10,000 of that money to charity. And, if you help me win, I'll give you some pretty awesome prizes. It's fast and easy, and we can make a huge difference in the world together. Here's how you can help put food in the mouths of amazing children and win stuff.
1. Sign Up: Go to artistsignal.com. Enter your name & one email: http://artistsignal.com/signup/music
2. Vote: Vote for me here: http://artistsignal.com/bodi
3. Vote Often: You can vote for me ONCE PER HOUR. Set it in your phone, on your computer at work, at home…Vote during commercials, when you brush your teeth, when you go doodee, while sleepwalking…
4. Spread the Word: Please invite friends to this event, to the page, tell them to vote, tell them what will happen when we win this.
5. Win: If we win this, I'll give $10,000 of the money to charity - Mercy Corps, and two orphanages in Kenya where I volunteered
The contest ends June 1st. This isn't about getting the word out about my music. This is about raising money for people in need.
Here's what you can get for helping:
- Vote 100 times: I will mail you an autographed copy of any album of your choice.
- Vote 200 times, I will send you an autographed album and a handwritten song of your choice, in pen, in my horrible handwriting.
- Vote 300 times, I will send you all of the above, and give you a sneak peak of my upcoming full length a good half-year before anyone else will ever hear it.
- Vote 500 times, all of the above plus tickets for you and three friends to any one show of your choosing in the future.
And, if you are THE top voter, I will take you to dinner the next time I tour through your city, and give you all sorts of free stuff in person.
Every hour and vote counts! Thank you for being an amazing human being.
Forever Is Now
is a brand new EP from Bodi, produced entirely by Abstrakt. The instrumentals subtly sample our favorite Sigur Ros songs. You can pick up a copy for any price you like over atBandcamp
. However, 100% of the proceeds from the album will be donated to Faraja and Ebenezer Children's Orphanages in Kenya, where Bodi spent his summer volunteering in 2010. The EP is 8 tracks, coming in at just under 25 minutes. Each track flows freely from one to the next, laced with passion, focus, the all too painful truth that we are all just passing through this temporary journey together, and the hope that we will help lift one another and make now last forever. After all, now is all we have.
Forever is Now is releasing 1.24.12. It's produced entirely by UK-based super-producer Abstrakt, composed of samples from some of our favorite Sigur Ros songs. You'll notice the album is released as "name your price," so you can set any price from $0-$100,000. However, 100% of what you choose to pay will be donated to Faraja and Ebenezer orphanages in Kenya. And as an added incentive, those of you who Pre-Order
with any amount of money will have the album two weeks in advance, on 1.10.12.
With the Give Back Friday sale wrapped up, I thought I'd share just where exactly your support over the last week will go. This video from Mercy Corps sums it up nicely:http://vimeo.com/17542137
By providing women with fuel-efficient cookstoves, Mercy Corps helps reduce the pressure on forests that serve as habitat for endangered gorillas. More importantly, it reduces the time women spend gathering wood outside protected camps, when they are at a severe risk of assault.
As always, 50% of the net proceeds from merch/album sales will continue to be donated to Mercy Corps relief efforts in the Congo.
Instead of Black Friday, we're gonna do Give Back Friday. From now until December 1st, every single cent of your album and merch purchases are going to be donated to Mercy Corps to buy stoves for families in the Congo, which saves lives and protects women and children in one of the most desperate humanitarian crises on Earth. Each stove costs $25. Let's get 10 of them.
Each person who buys $10 or more worth of merch will receive a handwritten thank you card from me.
Buy your Bodi/Alexipharmic/Elephant Memories gear here: Bodi Store
. For more information on the stoves and the difference they make, go to http://www.mercycorps.org/gift/cookstove
How can I afford to do this? I can't, but it's worth it. Please spread the word. Thank you for your support!
My Grandma, Zetta (born Zetta Zane Zilla), died a little over a month ago. Among other endeavors in a very full life, she raised 6 kids really well (including my mom), and taught me valuable lessons in perseverance and being an authentic human being. She also taught me how to swear and gamble. I made this song
in testament to her. I'm making it available to you in hopes of bringing some comfort in the midst of loss. It's the toughest part of life that we all experience.
This song is part of an upcoming EP. Thank you for all of your support. I hope you enjoy.
Thank you for the memories, Grandma.
